Julep September 2014

September 2014 The Art Walk Collection.

I was personally excited about this month until they released the September colors. To me they are boring and just blah to me. The shades are just boring and somber to me. I live in Florida where it doesn't get very cold, we basically don't have season changes and it's very warm here for most of the year.

The Polishes:

Erin, Boho Glam: Oyster gray creme.
Mary Lee, Boho Glam: Oxblood Satin.
Eliana, Bombshell: Soft denim creme.
Kirby, Bombshell: Silver jagged glitter top coat.
Lupita, Classic With A Twist: Ripe rhubarb creme.
Quinn, Classic With A Twist: Charcoal purple satin.
Fifi, It Girl: Tea time pink creme.
Mahima, It Girl: Amber Gold Chrome.
Ryan, It Girl: Overcast teal satin.

Julep is releasing their Plush Pout Lip Crayons this month.
Almond Nude, Aurora Pink, Cardinal Red, Magenta Plum.

Add-On:

Ana, Bombshell: White jagged glitter top coat.

September 2014 Birchbox Man.

September's theme for Birchbox Man is Hit The Books.

I subscribed to Birchbox in May 2014 for myself and loved it, so I decided to sign up for my husband a couple months ago. It's a little more pricey than the woman's box at $20 a month but seems to have better quality items. This has been the best box for my husband so far. The picture above is what my husband received in his September box.

Baxter of California
After Shave Balm/ Full Size: $18 Sample Size: 15 ml
Review: My husband doesn't really use After Shave of any kind, I will probably trade this.

Plant
Face Oil/ Full Size: $40 Sample Size: Vial
Review: He has been using this product and likes it, I'm just not sure because it's oil based.

SmartSkin
A27 Anti-Aging Eye Cream/ Full Size: $125 Sample Size: 5ml
Review: I believe this was his favorite product in this box, he's been worrying about wrinkles a lot but I doubt we will buy the full size because of the price.

Bonobos
Anchor Chief Pocket Square $42
Review: My husband surprisingly liked this handkerchief, he's not the dressy type but he said he will use it.

Field Notes
Mixed 3-Pack with Clic Pens $ 11.95
Review: Seems interesting, my husband works outside and will get good use out of these. The pens are cheaply made though.

My Julep Box August 2014 Wanderlust Collection.

Julep August 2014 The Wanderlust Collection by far my favorite collection of polishes that Julep has released so far. I admittedly did the ultimate upgrade so I could have all nine polishes, the four new gel eye gliders, eyeshadow brush, and sweep eyeshadow palette.

The Polish and descriptions:

India, Boho Glam: Freshwater blue shimmer.
Waleska, Boho Glam: Eucalyptus green chrome with gold iridescent.
Neha, Bombshell: Sari magenta shimmer.
Tazeen, Bombshell: Full-coverage Bollywood gold glitter.
Katie, Classic With A Twist: Orchid iridescent chrome.
Avni, Classic With A Twist: African violet shimmer.
Tammi, It Girl: Lemongrass green shimmer.
Joyce, It Girl: Lava red shimmer.
Kirti, It Girl: Persimmon iridescent shimmer.

Add-On's:

Sushmita, Classic With A Twist
Cameron, Boho Glam
Jane, Bombshell

Gel Eye Gliders:

Smoky Taupe, Rich Brown, Smoky Plum, and Blackest Black.

My box came late but not as late as some, my box arrived on August 9th. To my surprise I had four extra gel eye gliders, Queen Anne, and blank canvas mattifying eye primer. I was very lucky that I even got my August box and was only missing one item, Waleska. I will include a link to Julep's page for you to see the whole collection.

Julep August 2014

The them for Julep's August polish collection is "The Wanderlust Collection" and is my favorite shades so far since I've been a Maven since June 2014. The colors are gorgeous and quite unique in my opinion. The polish was so popular most of the box choices were sold out within a few hours after the Maven window being open. Just about everyone wanted India-Boho Glam.

Julep had a major problem this month with orders, also decided not to use DHL and went to Fedex Smartship and started shipping out of a warehouse in Ohio. Julep also over-sold the Maven boxes and this upset so many woman.

Some people didn't get a box, some got doubles, triples, ect. Missing items, the list goes on. Julep didn't respond/explain to Mavens what they were going to do to fix the situation they put themselves in.  The boxes that did go out were extremely late. Julep finally sent out an e-mail to all Maven's apologizing for the mess up and sent Jules to make up for it. The Maven's that didn't get a box at all were refunded, received a box of favorites free, and Jules. I think that was very fair in my opinion and some people were still not happy and canceled.
